  • In addition to working on customer projects, developers also have the opportunity to contribute to our idev® platform which we have developed in-house. This includes a content management system (CMS), ecommerce platform, search application, and broadcast email application (with more on the way).
  • By working on such high-profile applications, it gives our developers the opportunity to stretch their horizons and learn about things like database partitioning; caching; web farms; working with huge volumes of data; workflow; specialized ecommerce techniques; payment gateways; integration with various external software like ERP systems; AJAX; JSON; advanced programming models based on design patterns; plug-in architecture, etc.

What we’re looking for in a developer:

  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • Experience in programming web sites and/or mobile applications
  • We currently program in Microsoft ASP.NET and SQL Server. While experience in .NET/SQL is preferred, we’ve also hired developers who were skilled in PHP or Java who have quickly learned how to work in .NET/SQL. The key is having a knack for programming with a willing to learn.

Front End Developer - CHICAGO/WASHINGTON DC

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generating mood, concept and working beta site while work in a time-challenged situation that meets the tough demands of users and technology.
  • Creating compelling digital design solutions and functionality that inspire users and meet business goals.
  • Communicating effectively at a high level in client organizations, able to produce and present work on your own.
  • Excellent presentation skills, able to lead the pitching process from a creative perspective.
  • A clear understanding of user-centered design and the process involved, including:
  • Persona development
  • wireframing
  • user journeys or scenario work
  • interface design and navigation
  • Ability to discuss and interpret to client where necessary.
  • Ability to lead to help create the best design work and create successful and integrated experiences.
  • Maintaining regular contact with other divisions including front and back end developers on a specific project when required to ensure a consistent approach to the design style and branding of the division's interactive output.
  • Design expertise and direction into proposals and presentations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Formal background & qualifications (Degree and or Masters) in one or more of the following;

Project Manager - CHICAGO/WASHINGTON DC/DALLAS

The Project Manager's primary responsibility is to manage and execute Web site and web application development projects for our clients. The Project Manager leads the team and acts as the liaison. The Project Manager takes a project from the initial conception described in the proposal and develops the scope through completion, on schedule, on budget, and meeting or exceeding expectations of the team and the client. Additionally, the Project Manager supports the Senior Programmer and Account Manager in developing overall account strategy and strengthening the client relationship.

 

  • Manages the project team through creation of detailed and accurate project descriptions, estimates, functional and technical specifications, schedules, timelines and written status reports throughout the Web site development process.
  • Documents all aspects of project development through the use of project extranets, meeting notes, change request forms, and other documentation
  • Understands and follows the established project development and change management process and contributes to this process
  • Works with the Senior Programmer and Art Director to manage resources for the project, including utilization of team resources, forecasting and budget management.
  • Strong organization, communication, and motivational skills A self-starter attitude; strong organization and written and verbal communication skills
  • Marketing / Graphical / Technical backgrounds are a bonus or a plus
  • Undergraduate Degree

Server/Network Tech - CHICAGO

Technical Writer - CHICAGO

Americaneagle.com is seeking qualified candidates to fill the Technical Writer position within our Chicago (Park Ridge, IL) office.   The primary responsibility for this position is writing technical documentation for our Standards Department.  The candidate must be able to produce documentation from a Programming and Project Management standpoint, creating documentation that is accurate and complete, but as concise as possible.  Other duties may include writing copy for marketing and proposal materials.
