We're seeking a full time, Instructional Designer within our team to be at our HQ Des Plaines location. This person will work on a variety of different projects within the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in a highly collaborative team and take lead on some projects
  • Follow creative direction, existing style guides and frameworks to create and iterate creative content across a variety of media
  • Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Edit, build and develop learning materials including conceptualization, execution, and production
  • Design promotional collateral, i.e. print materials, email marketing, landing pages, powerpoint presentations, and social media
  • Create and present storyboards, wireframes and prototypes to provide design direction
  • Work with organizational stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand the business challenges, project scope and objectives
  • Keeping abreast of instructional design theories, techniques, & trends to deliver cutting edge work
  • Develop concepts, storyboards, and write script content for various types of videos (explainer, promo, and interview style videos)
  • Administer, troubleshoot and manage Learning Management Software (LMS)
Requirements:
  • Familiar with adult learning theory and LMS administration
  • Experience with ADDIE, SAM or scrum frameworks as they pertain to creating eLearning modules
  • Ability to translate business and performance objectives into learning objectives that form the basis of eLearning courses used for both internal training/onboarding and externally for web development clients
  • Able to storyboard learning modules that meet defined learning objectives
  • Ability to work with and educate SMEs to produce workflows and processes resulting in rapid development of effective and visually engaging eLearning courses
  • eLearning project management experience organizing project details, budgets and timelines including oversight of the overall learning strategy and collection of courses
  • Ability to coordinate and streamline communication with very busy stakeholders within the learning initiative including managers, SMEs and the learners themselves
  • Strong portfolio showcasing high-end digital design skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with eLearning tools including: Camtasia, Articulate Storyline or Captivate with a portfolio to match
  • Deep understanding of templates, slide masters and themes as used in eLearning tools like Storyline, and asset management to build multiple scalable courses simultaneously
  • Ability to identify opportunities to streamline the implementation of a large set of courses
  • Ability to create complex level 3 learning modules with interactions, branching, triggers, animations, knowledge checks and software simulations as well as simple level 1 instructional videos, demos and simple interaction
  • Previous experience with website administration or in the IT industry  
  • Understanding of ADA (American Disabilities Act) requirements for video and visual learning content
